Consensuss Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Consensuss is a quiz game. We built it to collect as little as possible about you.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The app has no accounts, no login, and no sign-up, and it asks for no personal information. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or photos, and we do not use analytics. The one exception is advertising, described below.

Advertising

The free version of Consensuss shows ads, delivered through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource). To show and measure ads, the ad provider may process your device's IP address (which indicates your approximate, city-level location), information about the ads you see and how you interact with the app, basic diagnostics such as crash and performance data, and — where advertising tracking is permitted — your device's advertising identifier. On iOS you choose this when the app asks on first launch; on Android, personalized ads use your Google advertising ID unless you opt out in your device settings. If you decline or opt out, ads still show but are not personalized using that identifier. Buying Remove Ads turns advertising off completely. We do not receive or store this advertising data ourselves. You can read how the ad provider handles data in Unity's player privacy policy.

Purchases

Consensuss offers optional in-app purchases, such as Remove Ads and a host pass. The App Store or Google Play handles all payments; we never see or store your card or payment details. To unlock what you bought, our server checks the store's purchase receipt, which is tied to the purchase and not to your name.

Multiplayer

When you start or join a multiplayer game, your device connects to our game server over an encrypted (TLS) connection. Our server briefly sees your device's IP address, as any internet connection requires, and uses it only to rate-limit abuse. It is not stored with your game or used to identify you. A game uses a short room code and a temporary, anonymous session token so the server can pass moves between the players in that room. These are not linked to your identity and are discarded when the game ends. There is no public matchmaking, no chat, and no messaging.

On your device

A few preferences, such as whether sound is on or off, are stored only on your device using the system preferences store. They never leave your device.

Your choices and rights

You control tracking. On iOS, allow or deny when the app asks on first launch, and change your answer any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in Settings → Google → Ads. Buying Remove Ads turns advertising off entirely. Because we hold no information that identifies you, there is normally nothing for us to look up, change, or delete about you. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you still have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of your personal data, and to complain to your local data-protection authority; email us and we will help where we can. For data handled by the ad provider, see Unity's privacy policy linked above.

Children

Consensuss is rated 12+ and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The free version shows ads, which involve the advertising data described above; buying Remove Ads turns them off.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the version shown in the app.
